Main History
Kagawa University was established in May
1949 as a national university with two faculties (Faculty of Liberal Arts and
Faculty of Economics) under the newly revised educational system. The Faculty
of Liberal Arts was created from the former Kagawa Normal School and the former
Kagawa Youth Normal School. The Faculty of Economics was created from the former
Takamatsu Specialized School of Economics.
July 1955 Kagawa
Prefecture Agriculture College joined the university as the Faculty of
Agriculture.
April 1966 Faculty
of Liberal Arts was renamed Faculty of Education.
April 1981 Faculty
of Law was established.
Oct. 1997 Faculty of Engineering was established.
Oct. 2003 Kagawa University amalgamated
with Kagawa Medical University (*). April 2004 National
University Corporation Kagawa University was established. April 2004 Graduate School of Management was
established.
April 2004 Kagawa-Ehime
Universities' Graduate School of Law was established.April 2022 Graduate School of Science for Creative Emergence was established.

April 1983 University Hospital was established.
