Established in April, 2018 as a public university in the nature-rich Nagano prefecture, the University of Nagano has three principles as its mission: Development of Leaders, Regional Innovation, and Global Communication.Features of our education include small-group learning, dormitory life for all first-year students, and participation in overseas programs for all second-year students.
Our campus is located in Nagano city, which is an easily accessible 80 minutes by shinkansen bullet train from Tokyo. Surrounded by beautiful mountains. Nagano is a charming city offering leisure actibities to enjoy in the great outdoors. Host to the 1998 Winter Olympics, Nagano city receives tourists from all over the world and is a very livable city overflowing with a spirit of hospitality.

Providing student dormitory : Yes ( for all of international students) Supports other than student dormitory : No (Special notes) : In the first year, all students live in the university's dormitory.
The international students are allowed to live in the dormitory after the second year, too.
The students with exellent academic performancy are exempted from all of the annual dormitory fee of 150,000 yen.
