Adopting a practical approach to the study of food, nutrition, and health that equips students to become specialists in protecting public health

【Undergraduate】Over 80 years since its establishment, Kagawa Nutrition University provides advanced specialist education programs that continue to uphold its founding mission of striving to maintain and improve human health through balanced diets and proper nutrition. The undergraduate school, in particular, enables students to become skilled professionals who support public health as registered dietitians, clinical laboratory technicians, school nurses and home economics teachers, among other roles. The Department of Food Culture and Nutrition offers various courses that adopt alternative perspectives to those of dietitian training facilities, as it seeks to enable students to pursue a wide range of roles in the field of food and diet by providing firm foundations in the study of nutrition without focusing exclusively on qualifications. Our departments and divisions allow each student to discover their own approach to the study of nutrition which is suited to their individual aspirations, learning style, passions, and interests.  【Graduate School】～A hub of learning and research that promotes the skills to pursue innovative research in tune with the diverse changes in society～If you would like pursue your career in the field of nutrition, health and food, rather than in US, why not study in JAPAN with similar food culture and physical makeup? KNU is one of the best options for the students with Asian background to study those topics since we are Japan’s first and only private university specialized in nutrition science with its 87 years history, covering not only nutrition science related topics but also other areas including health sciences, food sciences, school nursing and food culture and business etc.While classes in the undergraduate program is taught fully in Japanese, the KNU has started to teach graduate classes partially in English. Therefore, those whose Japanese language capacity is not enough are able to follow the class. Adapting new name, JAPAN NUTRITION UNIVERSIRY, as of 2026 academic year

We KNU will adopt New Names as of the 2026 Academic Year!! As we transition to a coeducational system, which will go into effect as of the 2026 academic year, Kagawa Nutrition University will adopt new names: Japan Nutrition University (JNU).

The new names reflect our commitment to transcending all boundaries, from gender to nationality, and capture our determination to remain a vital hub for nutrition in Japan.
