Fukuyama University was born in 1975 and nowadays has grown into a comprehensive institute with five faculties consisting of fourteen departments and four graduate schools. There are 34 school buildings in an extensive campus which is surrounded by rich natural beauty.
As one of its admission policies, Fukuyama University extols a "well-rounded education that promotes accommodative, overall character building with reverence for humanity" and aims to create students who have a wide range of education, specialized knowledge, and ample human sensibilities.
