Kyoto Koka College: Creating People’s “Health” and “Future”
Kyoto Koka College is located in Kyoto, a city rich in Japanese tradition and culture, offering convenient and comfortable campus life. From April 2026, the university became coeducational, starting under a new name. Since its founding in 1940, we have valued human education based on Buddhist philosophy, focusing on compassion and fostering independent individuals.
Kyoto Koka College is highly regarded as a top-level training institution for professionals in health, medical care, and welfare in the Kyoto-Shiga area. We also offer a wide range of programs such as sociology, business, and education. All faculties and majors accept international students through entrance examinations and we actively welcome students from many countries.
Comprehensive Support for International Students and Learning Traditional Japanese Culture
Kyoto Koka College is distinguished by its attentive small-group teaching and comprehensive academic support for international students. Dedicated faculty members and staff at the International Exchange Center support students in both their studies and daily life, and our “Japanese Language Community” also provides assistance to international students, with help from senior students.
We also offer a rich education in traditional Japanese culture. In our required “Traditional Culture” classes, students can study etiquette as well as choose among tea ceremony, flower arrangement (ikebana), and calligraphy. Various clubs and volunteer activities are active, offering many opportunities to experience Japanese culture and participate in the local community.
Kyoto Koka College is fully committed to supporting your learning and growth, your experiences with Japanese culture, and your future challenges. If you wish to enjoy a fulfilling student life in the rich environment of Kyoto—“the city of universities and students”—we invite you to take on new possibilities at Kyoto Koka College.
